Success Story #33: Tina and Gary

  • September 25, 2010 at 1:57 am

Gigi wonders how much time has to pass before a relationship can be counted as a success story. Only one of the 32 stories written about here has ended up in a break-up. So far, all the others are still happily chugging along. In the past 33 weeks since we started our blog, I have been able to find a different success story for each week, which is a good thing, and gives Gigi hope that there is a happy future for her and Jean-Claude. So far they are lasting more than any local men Gigi has dated in the past few years. Success Story #33: Tina and Gary – continue reading…

Nightmare date #33: Frick and Frack

  • September 25, 2010 at 1:50 am

Last week our nightmare date was one in which Sassy’s, Buffy and Muffy went out on a double date with Frick and Frack, two Latino brothers that they sometimes hang out with. What made it a nightmare was the fact that they brought their dad along, which made the whole “fun” part of the date rather strange!! Sassy just laughed when she heard the story, and reminded them of the last time they went out with them, when they swore up and down that they would never ever go out with them again. Oh how many times do we say things like this, and not follow our excellent advice later on? Nightmare date #33: Frick and Frack – continue reading…

Success story #32: Anita and Francisco

  • September 19, 2010 at 6:01 pm

It seems as though Gigi’s family has had better luck than her in their choice of a marriage partner… such is life!! A few weeks ago, I wrote about my mother’s older sister, and her marriage that was extremely happy and successful until the day her husband died. This week, Gigi wants to tell you about her other aunt Rosalba, her mom’s younger sister, and how happy she was. Sadly both this aunt and her husband are both now dead, but they were together for many many years… from their youth until the dead they died. Nightmare Date #32: Double date from hell

  • September 19, 2010 at 4:47 pm

What is worse than a date from hell? A double date from hell!! Gigi has never been on a double date, although she has often thought about it. At least during a double date, you have your friend with you to either enjoy it together, suffer through it together, or be there to help you get out of it together!! I think that being on a double date might even make things easier on the people involved, by decreasing the stress that can be a part of the date. Wedding Story #4: Brenda and Matt

  • September 10, 2010 at 6:11 pm

Gigi loves weddings. But how much more special can a wedding be, when it is one from someone you’ve seen grow up from a cute little girl to a beautiful young woman? Brenda is one of Gigi’s nieces from her ex-husband’s family. Brenda was only 3 or 4 when they first met, and Gigi has always felt very close to her. When Gigi got divorced, Brenda was one of the first to stick to her side, and not fault her for having divorced her uncle. Wedding Story #4: Brenda and Matt – continue reading…

Success Story #30: Rosalba and Jaime

  • September 4, 2010 at 2:55 am

One of the most successful marriages that Gigi ever saw was that of her aunt Rosalba and her uncle Jaime. They loved each other to the very day he died last year, and they were together for longer than Gigi can remember. She always loved hearing their story from her mother, because it showed her that true love really can conquer all, if you try hard enough. Success Story #30: Rosalba and Jaime – continue reading…

Nightmare Date #30: I’ll take the waiter instead please!!

  • September 4, 2010 at 2:37 am

When Gigi doesn’t get a nightmare story from a friend, she can always find one from her past!! How sad is that? Then again, that might bring her money one day if Gigi and Helen ever get published!! Now not all the dates in these categories are true nightmares… some are just a seemingly never ending date, where you wish you were anywhere but there… even a root canal at times seems like a better place to be!! Gigi loves weddings. She would love to plan them, attend them, crash them, just be a fly on the wall and observes the bride and groom’s happiness on this very special day. This wedding is even more special to Gigi because it is the first one for this blog… and the bride is a Gigi and Helen blog fan!! She send us so many wonderful comments, she shared her success story with us, and then she shared her wedding day with Gigi. Helen would have gone too, but was unfortunately out of town.
