Poem #47: “Last Night” by Elle W. Ford

  • November 9, 2010 at 9:22 pm

Gigi loves all the wonderful love poems she finds on face book, especially when her own poem/story writing seems to have come to a temporary end. Thank God her blog writing has not come to the same writer’s block!! Sometimes I think this blog is all that keeps Gigi going… and stops her from going crazy when life, job, principals, kids, sons, economy, mom, and what else? Oh yes men… crash into her life!! Poem # 46: “An ode to your…” by Gigi Flores

  • November 5, 2010 at 11:10 pm

Gigi is writing poetry again… thanks to the man who had her begin writing poetry last summer. He is back in her life, although he is someone whom she will not write about. He is a chapter only shared between Gigi and him… She will post poems she writes about him… but the stories she writes are not to to be shared. At times, Gigi thinks that she jinxs herself when she writes about the men she cares about. Poem # 46: “An ode to your…” by Gigi Flores – continue reading…

  • October 25, 2010 at 9:40 pm

This week’s poem is by one of my favorite local poets, Christopher Jones. It is so nice to know that there are still real men out there who can write romantic poetry for a woman. Maybe one day Gigi will find herself a poet just like this!! Poem #44: “Ain’t no sunshine” by Christopher Jones – continue reading…

Poem #43: “The Forbidden Desire” by Gigi Flores

  • October 19, 2010 at 10:35 pm

Gigi has not written a poem in quite some time… not exactly a blockage, just lack of inspiration. Suddenly today, in the middle of walking around her class, she was hit by a moment she experienced in the past, and just had to write it down, there and then. She had to share it with you, and hopes you will like it. Poem #43: “The Forbidden Desire” by Gigi Flores – continue reading…

Poem #39: “Wine and Roses” by Dimonique Boyd

  • September 27, 2010 at 10:45 pm

I think that Dimonique Boyd is my favorite local poetess… not only that, but boy can she write a mean blog!! She has been writing weekly blogs for us now for the past few weeks, and it you haven’t read them, you really must. Today’s blog had me in stitches of laughter… here is one of her poems that I found on her face book months ago, and have been saving until today… My poems have dried up for now… what with being the executive editor of Troubadour 21, in charge of writing a gazillion blog entries and questions for this blog, and try to settle into being a 4th grade teacher, writing lesson plans up the wazoo, I barely have time to eat, breathe, or sleep!! So I will have to depend on my local poets for this poetry section!! Poem #39: “Wine and Roses” by Dimonique Boyd – continue reading…
