Guest Writer #135: “Turducken”

  • November 14, 2011 at 8:04 pm

I have far more dating/relationship mishaps to share than I do success stories…those mishaps make for great lessons. In the time that I’ve been writing this dating blog, it’s helped me to learn a lot about myself and the role I play in my own dating drama. Yes, I actually do think that I am partially at fault… One thing I’ve come to notice about myself in general is that I am an avoider, meaning that I avoid things in hopes that they’ll go away. I ignore my toothache because I can’t afford the co-pay or I have too many upcoming engagements to be holed up in the house gone off Vicodin and Tylenol-3. I ignore that bump in the night because it actually might BE something. I ignore my feelings, hoping they fade before they get hurt…they usually don’t and I usually DO. Guest Writer #134: “10 Tips for Teens Before Meeting Their Date’s Dad”

  • November 12, 2011 at 12:21 am

Gigi is never quite sure of just who is reading her blog, but she likes to have advice for everyone, women, men and now she has one for teens, just in case they stumble onto her blog. Maybe if teens read about dating early one, they will not fall into all the pits their elders fall into. God knows Gigi is trying to teach her sons how to treat females properly, and now that her eldest son is in college, she hopes he is following her advice. In fact, he actually calls to ask her what to do and say when he meets a girl he likes, so maybe Gigi is more successful as a mother than as a single dater!! This article is one such thing… on proposing marriage on Facebook!! If Gigi is ever lucky to get that far with a man, she really hopes he doesn’t use a social network to propose. Gigi is still a hopeless romantic and wants an in person approach!! Still, it was a fun read/ Guest Writer #133: “10 Ways to Propose Marriage Using FaceBook” – continue reading…

Guest Writer #130: “Avoiding the “Bad Guys”’

  • November 7, 2011 at 8:44 pm

I recently asked the good folks on my facebook fan page what my next topic for the dating blog should be, and one young lady suggested I write about the signs of a bad man from the survivor’s perspective. I thought this was a FABULOUS idea except for one thing-I don’t believe in “bad guys” for myself anymore. When the light broke through the darkness after my break-up with the infamous ex, I realized that there were a lot of things I ignored about both him and myself that could have saved me a lot of time and trouble. That’s when I decided that there ARE no bad guys and I am no victim of bad relationships…but we CAN talk about how to make better choices and what to know before we make ANY choices. • November 2, 2011 at 9:32 pm

Maybe if Gigi had followed this advice on checking on your date’s background, she wouldn’t run into so many nuts out there!! Here is a great article sent to us by Top dating sites. Gigi will make sure to do this from now on… oh and another good idea? Get a free Google voice phone number… you can use to receive calls, make calls, and send texts, and the person won’t know your real phone number. Gigi got this tip from a date that didn’t work out, and she is no longer giving her real number…
