When people say, “Opposites attract,” are they referring to those couples that look like siblings or when models date each other? While it makes sense for people to gravitate toward the likeminded in seeking out a life partner, dating your look-alike is another story. It seems that like Narcissus before us we fall in love with our own reflections – they just happen to be reflected in another person’s features. Guest Writer #116: “Why Do I Want to Get Married?”

I had this thing all figured out when I was a kid, and I mean a YOUNG kid. I was going to go to high school, meet my sweetheart, date him through college, get good jobs, then we’d get married and have children. That’s what you do, right? That’s the way I saw things happen on television, or at least I pieced together the parts I saw with the parts I wanted. A nine-year-old girl doesn’t quite have a reason for getting married, yet.
