Poem #55 “Wishing” by Elle W. Ford

This week’s poem is from a wonderful poetess whom I have not yet met, but we are friends on face book, where I am lucky enough to be able to read her poetry, and then share it with you. Here is another poem written by Elle W. Ford.

As I lay alone
I wish that you were mine
I think about the past
And want to turn back the hands of time
I would like to go to a place
When I once held you tight
In sickness and in health
All throughout the night
When I could not wait
To see your smiling face
Not one moment with you
Was ever considered a waste
I was so proud to say I was your girl
you became my life, my heart, my world
As I lay here tonight…
I wish I would have never walked away
