  • December 27, 2010 at 3:50 pm

This dating activity might come a little late, since it is already past Christmas, but keep it mind for next year!! Gigi had to share it because it is what she did on her second date with Jonathan… whom she has now been dating successfully and exclusively for over a month. Their first date was dinner at a wonderful restaurant… He sent her flowers to work both before and after that date… the first time that Gigi has ever received flowers for no reason, AND had them sent to work, which makes it even more exciting because everyone you work with gets to see the attention you are getting!! Guest Writer #36: New Year’s Blues

  • December 27, 2010 at 3:05 pm

As you are reading this blog, New Year’s Eve should be approaching. If you’re anything like me, New Year’s Eve probably feels like yet another couple’s holiday. People get all dressed up to go out, usually with a date. And sure, you don’t have to have a date to get dressed up and go out, but who are you gonna kiss when the ball drops? Boo, hiss… When I was in my early twenties, I got really depressed on NYE, so I started doing for it the same thing I would do for Valentine’s Day or Sweetest Day-ignore it altogether. I’d set myself up with movies, books, and snacks for the day so that I wouldn’t have to sit there watching New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Dick Clark and feeling like I was starting the year as a lonely loser. Nightmare Date #38: The date from hell!!

  • December 27, 2010 at 3:03 pm

Gigi asked her face book friends for help in finding a date from hell, since it has been mostly her dates she’s written about lately, and for once she was stumped in finding one to write about. She received this one from Dina, who clearly remembered a date where everything went wrong. Instead of short and sweet, it was long and hellish!! Successful Story #38: Kathy and Paul

  • December 22, 2010 at 9:27 pm

Whenever Gigi writes a successful story for her blog, she wonders if one day it will be hers… and at what point can she call it successful? She heard the other day that if your relationship lasts three months, then one can begin to hope. So Gigi is still two months away. If she and Jonathan make it to her birthday in March, then Gigi will write about them!! But for this week, Gigi is going to write about Kathy and Paul, a very happy couple that she met a few years ago through her friend Kelly. Continue reading ‘Successful Story #38: Kathy and Paul’

Helen’s Christmas Wish List

  • December 22, 2010 at 4:57 pm

Dear Santa,
I know that I will never be too old to believe in miracles, so I figured I would hand one off to you and see how you can do. For starters, in the past, when I was looking for a potential mate, they had to be tall (with nice, long legs), have dark hair, blue eyes, be breathtakingly handsome, suave, debonair and great with kids. I have met some great guys in the past, but have realized the truly important things and have also gotten less picky.
Now, I am looking for: Someone who is great with kids (but doesn’t have 500 of his own), a man who is gainfully employed and not just working odd jobs to barely make it by each month, someone who is honest and funny, old-fashioned, good morals, preferably taller than me, and he and I have to be physically attracted to one another. As far as the legs, hair and eye color go….well, let’s just say if he has all three, then we are on top of the dating food chain right now!
Funny how our lists of attributes of a mate changes over time. But, I am sure I have changed, too. Good Luck in your search! I will expect him under my Christmas tree, please! All my love,
Helen                     Age 32
P.S. I would also prefer that he be on your “Nice” list. We can save the “naughty” for someone else. 🙂
