Whenever Gigi writes a successful story for her blog, she wonders if one day it will be hers… and at what point can she call it successful? She heard the other day that if your relationship lasts three months, then one can begin to hope. So Gigi is still two months away. If she and Jonathan make it to her birthday in March, then Gigi will write about them!! But for this week, Gigi is going to write about Kathy and Paul, a very happy couple that she met a few years ago through her friend Kelly.
Gigi went to their wedding a few years ago, and every time that she sees them, they are happy and smiling. They met at a bar, and dated for quite a few years. Not everyone rushes into marriage, and that is ok. Paul has two sons, and Kathy doesn’t have any, and she says she doesn’t want any… not all women do.
They met at a bar, which shows you that one CAN find true love at a bar… it is not just a place for one night stands. In fact, quite a few of our success stories met their significant other at a bar.
Kathy and Paul have time together as a couple, and time apart with their friends. Kathy comes to all the birthday dinners that Gigi and Kelly go to, but she doesn’t go salsa dancing with them. Gigi totally gets this, the older she gets. She is beginning to like the dinners out more than the salsa dancing after… especially when she has a special man of her own. The bar scene is just growing old.
Their secret? Well, it is not really a secret. Compromise and communication. Gigi’s man Jonathan is very big on this and even after only a month together, Gigi can tell he is serious about it. They talk about everything, take turns doing things, and have no trouble compromising. Hey, maybe Gigi will be able to write about them here one day soon.
