Communication is vital in any relationship, but more so when you are in a long distance relationship. When you live far away from each other, you have to deal with the fact that you cannot see each other whenever you want to. You cannot just pop in for a quick hug and kiss. You cannot leave work to have lunch together. You cannot spend quality time with the one you love. You cannot have great make-up sex if there is any conflict between you.
So if one of you goes silent and totally stops communicating, it is pure hell on the one who is suddenly left in the dark. In a very quiet, WTF just happened dark. One minute, he is all mushy and loving, wanting to move to live with you, get married, have children, and then move to Spain, and grow old together. The next minute, he won’t answer his phone, won’t meet you on skype, and cannot even text. All this from a man who gave you nonstop attention for almost two months.
Oops… too personal? Well, it is personal to Gigi, and she simply does not get those people who jump into a relationship, and are all hot and heavy in the beginning, and then grow suddenly cold all too soon.
To go totally quiet for day after day after day, when you are used to communicating various times a day, is not a very nice thing to do. Gigi is practically convinced that it is all over between her and Jean-Claude.
Then after 3 days and nights of silence, he texted her telling her that he has things to work on, and needs a few days to himself… Couldn’t he have told her this BEFORE going silent? Why can’t some people simply communicate with the one they love… just tell them that something is going on, and they need a few days to themselves?
So anyways, always keep the communication lines open, especially in an LDR relationship. Always.
