Gigi wonders how much time has to pass before a relationship can be counted as a success story. Only one of the 32 stories written about here has ended up in a break-up. So far, all the others are still happily chugging along. In the past 33 weeks since we started our blog, I have been able to find a different success story for each week, which is a good thing, and gives Gigi hope that there is a happy future for her and Jean-Claude. So far they are lasting more than any local men Gigi has dated in the past few years.
Sometimes I write about people I know, and sometimes I ask friends to share their own stories. Some write a lot, some give a few details. Some text me or email me their stories, and some I get from face book. This week’s story came from a new friend on face book, Tina.
Tina went to high school with Gigi in Spain, and they have just recently found each other on face book. Tina has given some comments on our blog questions and sent in the following details on her marriage.
From Tina: I’ve been married for 13 years and I’m still very happy! We met on Valentine’s night in a bar! It was supposed to be a one night stand! Lol. It didn’t work out that way! He’s my best friend !
Well, we met on Valentine’s night, introduced by a mutual friend. I had a bouquet of roses from someone else and he told me that in some countries they eat roses and proceeded to eat my flower! After the “night” I gave him my number and he just constantly called and wouldn’t take no for an answer. We dated for a while and I realized how much he meant to me and it blossomed from there. Gary proposed one morning in bed and just simply blurted it out and I laughed and said of course! Our marriage is successful because we’re best friends and we trust each other completely. A relationship without trust isn’t a relationship! He’s allowed to look at beautiful women and I men without jealousy. We’re not dead! Lol! Also we do our own thing sometimes. We don’t spend every moment together. We are individuals still. Oh and we love each other immensely… that helps haha!
Sometimes these things do happen and someone that you meet by chance and jump into a sexual encounter with can lead to a serious relationship. Gigi truly believes this with all of her heart, which is why she doesn’t think that waiting for sex is the only way to become serious. People will stay together if they want to, regardless of the sex.
