Favorite Romantic Meal #32: From Gigi’s kitchen

  • September 19, 2010 at 10:22 pm

Marc didn’t have a favorite meal to choose, so Gigi did that. This is an easy task, since she loves to cook. So does her Jean-Claude, and hopefully he will be here soon to prove just that. A while back, Gigi chose going on a picnic as a romantic activity. She thought that before it gets cold, a romantic picnic would be just the thing, and she included quite a few recipes on things you could take on that picnic… Continue reading ‘Favorite Romantic Meal #32: From Gigi’s kitchen’

Favorite Romantic Vacation Spot #32: The Forbidden City in China

  • September 19, 2010 at 10:11 pm

Marc has told Gigi before that he no longer dates, and hasn’t in years. Gigi wasn’t sure how serious he was about this, but he did write that “I was actually serious when I said I haven’t dated in 20 years. I’ve never vacationed with anyone, but my first love and I broke the ice in the Forbidden City in China. True story. We were 16, overseas with a youth chorus.” Continue reading ‘Favorite Romantic Vacation Spot #32: The Forbidden City in China’

Favorite Romantic Book #32: Marc’s choice

  • September 19, 2010 at 9:53 pm

When Gigi asked Marc for a romantic book, he named one of Gigi’s favorites. Technically it is a book of poetry, and one that brings memories that are both happy and sad at the same time… from a time long ago that she doesn’t let herself think about too much… one of the lost loves of her life. Thankfully Gigi is happy these days, so those memories are not quite as sad as they used to be. Continue reading ‘Favorite Romantic Book #32: Marc’s choice’

Favorite Romantic Song #32: Marc’s choice

  • September 19, 2010 at 9:42 pm

Marc chose a group that I have never heard of, The Roches, so once again I used the internet to do some research, and then youtube.com to listen to the song. I dread to think what Gigi would do without the internet. Mark wrote to Gigi “I think a lot of sad love songs are romantic, especially anything by the Roches.” The funny thing? The song Gigi found mentions going to Ireland soon!! Ireland… where her Jean-Claude is whom she will go to Ireland to see at Christmas!! How prophetic is this choice? It mentions an “ocean boyfriend” which is exactly what Gigi has!! Continue reading ‘Favorite Romantic Song #32: Marc’s choice’

Favorite Romantic Movie #32: Marc’s choice

  • September 19, 2010 at 9:16 pm

We continue with Marc’s choice of a romantic movie. He chose a movie that Gigi hasn’t seen in years, and didn’t remember very well until she looked it up on the internet. I seem to remember enjoying it, but definitely need to watch it again, as I think I’ve only ever seen it once in my life. Continue reading ‘Favorite Romantic Movie #32: Marc’s choice’

Favorite Romantic Poem #12: “Balances” by Nikki Giovanni

  • September 19, 2010 at 8:45 pm

This week’s favorite romantic poem comes to us from Marc Mannheimer, who is one of Gigi’s authors on Troubadour 21. He writes great short stories for her, and he gave her his permission to post his real name and a direct link to his stories. Gigi tries to give everyone the privacy an alias can provide 🙂 Continue reading ‘Favorite Romantic Poem #12: “Balances” by Nikki Giovanni’

Success story #32: Anita and Francisco

  • September 19, 2010 at 6:01 pm

It seems as though Gigi’s family has had better luck than her in their choice of a marriage partner… such is life!! A few weeks ago, I wrote about my mother’s older sister, and her marriage that was extremely happy and successful until the day her husband died. This week, Gigi wants to tell you about her other aunt Rosalba, her mom’s younger sister, and how happy she was. Sadly both this aunt and her husband are both now dead, but they were together for many many years… from their youth until the dead they died. Continue reading ‘Success story #32: Anita and Francisco’

Nightmare Date #32: Double date from hell

  • September 19, 2010 at 4:47 pm

What is worse than a date from hell? A double date from hell!! Gigi has never been on a double date, although she has often thought about it. At least during a double date, you have your friend with you to either enjoy it together, suffer through it together, or be there to help you get out of it together!! I think that being on a double date might even make things easier on the people involved, by decreasing the stress that can be a part of the date. Top “Ten” #32: What is a true friend

  • September 19, 2010 at 3:37 pm

A big part of happy dating is making a real, and true and close friendship. Friendship is for people dating, and of course, there are the friendships that have nothing to do with dating. In both, I think that having a true friendship is one of the most important things in the world. You need to be friends with the one you love, and you need your friends to be true to you and be there for you while you are having dating or relationship issues. Sadly, this doesn’t always happen and friends can let you down, whether you are dating them or whether they are your non sexual friends. Continue reading ‘Top “Ten” #32: What is a true friend’

What do you do if you are married and he is married, but not to each other… and you have fallen in love with each other? Do you stay with your spouse for your children’s sake? Do you free yourself of a marriage that no longer fulfills your needs (physical AND emotional)? This is probably the toughest situation in which to ever find yourself.
