Tawny was Gigi’s first room mate in college, and even back then she was writing poetry. They had some very fun times in college and in Mallorca, when Tawny came home with her for Christmas. Throughout the years they lost touch once or twice, but have now seen each other for several wonderful and nostalgic reunions, together and with other college friends. Tawny is one of our blog fans, so I had to ask her to share some of her poetry with us. Like Gigi, Tawny has had a rough time dating, but has not yet given up… I hope!!
Here is Tawny’s poem for this week’s blog:
I HAD
I had hope but now it is gone
I had dreams; now there is none.
I had a lot of things I treasured,
But you have taken them away.
In their place I’ve been left with lies,
And a bent term of friendship.
Your untruths are piling up,
You are not as you seemed to be.
It seems I am the last to wise up,
But the first to feel the pain.
I have felt everything that has
happened between us was my fault.
But since-I have found the real you.
And it makes me feel less guilty.
I am again gaining hope for my future,
And I am dreaming new dreams.
I am collecting new treasures,
And there is no way you can take them.–Tawny
