Dating Activity #34: Go star gazing

  • September 28, 2010 at 11:07 pm

When I used to date my Canadian boyfriend Daniel in Alberta, we used to do a lot of star gazing… what with the many displays of Northern Lights, summer meteor showers, and the amazing Rocky Mountain backdrops, it was always an extremely romantic experience. There is something so intrinsically beautiful about lying back in the grass and gazing at stars together. Continue reading ‘Dating Activity #34: Go star gazing’

Poem #39: “Wine and Roses” by Dimonique Boyd

  • September 27, 2010 at 10:45 pm

I think that Dimonique Boyd is my favorite local poetess… not only that, but boy can she write a mean blog!! She has been writing weekly blogs for us now for the past few weeks, and it you haven’t read them, you really must. Today’s blog had me in stitches of laughter… here is one of her poems that I found on her face book months ago, and have been saving until today… My poems have dried up for now… what with being the executive editor of Troubadour 21, in charge of writing a gazillion blog entries and questions for this blog, and try to settle into being a 4th grade teacher, writing lesson plans up the wazoo, I barely have time to eat, breathe, or sleep!! So I will have to depend on my local poets for this poetry section!! Continue reading ‘Poem #39: “Wine and Roses” by Dimonique Boyd’

Guest Writer #14: “Cosmo sez” by Dimonique Boyd

  • September 27, 2010 at 10:37 pm

Cosmo Sez

Since completing grad school, I have taken to the most MINDLESS reading humanly possible. That being said, I’ve developed a liking for young women’s magazines such as Cosmopolitan and Glamour. Being the ripe old age of thirty-two, I find that there are far too many references to Facebook, and it seems like EVERY month is “The Sexiest Issue Ever!” I find the sex tips interesting, and the articles get me through quiet lunch hours alone. Relationship Advice #33: If they don’t say ‘I love you’ back

  • September 26, 2010 at 5:24 pm

You’ve said “I love you”, but he or she hasn’t said it back. Is that a bad sign? How long should you stick around to see if they feel the same way? This question also hit home, from a past relationship of Gigi’s and I am sure that it has happened to a lot of other people. Continue reading ‘Relationship Advice #33: If they don’t say ‘I love you’ back’

How long should you wait before moving in with someone? This is a serious move in a relationship, one showing commitment to one another. Is there a time that is too soon to move in together? Should one wait a certain amount of time? Of course, all relationships are different and there is not set formula for anything. Here is what our readers thought. Dating Tip # 33: Effect of social networks on dating

  • September 26, 2010 at 5:15 pm

Do you think that face book and other social networking have an effect on today’s relationships… and how? This question was not Gigi’s idea, but was sent in by a friend… but it really hits home, since Gigi is involved with someone who found her on face book, the social network of all social networks.
