This week’s favorites go to one of my youngest son’s Shane’s favorite teacher ever. He was in her class for 4th grade, and Gigi and Susie taught together in the same school for a year. She would call Gigi “Sparkles” because of her extrovert and extravagant way of dressing, saying that it wasn’t fair that Gigi could get away with it, simply by being the Spanish teacher… lol
Susie had a perfect choice for best romantic song. It is in the soundtrack of “The Notebook” from the book by Nicholas Sparks
and it is also in “My Sister’s Keeper” (a very very sad movie and even sadder book by Jodi Piccoult).
- “Feels Like Home” by Chantal Kreviazuk
- “Honey (touch me with my clothes on)” by Gilda Radner
The lyrics to this song are so beautiful that I had to add them here. They brought a tear to Gigi’s eye, reminding her of her long ago Englishman Niles… this was “their” song.
“Feels like home”
Something in your eyes
Makes me want to lose myself
Makes me want to lose myself
In your arms
There’s something in your voice
Makes my heart beat fast
Hope this feeling lasts
The rest of my life
If you knew how lonely my life has been
And how long I’ve felt so low
If you knew how I wanted someone to come along
And change my life the way you’ve doneChorus: Feels like home to me
Feels like home to me
Feels like I’m all the way back where
I come from
Feels like home to me
Feels like home to me
Feels like I’m all the way back where I belongA window breaks down a long dark street
And a siren wails in the night
But I’m alright ’cause I have you here with me
And I can almost see through the dark there’s lightIf you knew how much this moment means to me
And how long I’ve waited for your touch
If you knew how happy you are making me
I’ve never thought I’d love anyone so muchChorus
Feels like I’m all the way back where I belong

The next song was one that Gigi didn’t recognize. She didn’t even know that Gilda Radner sang!! But she did know that Gilda was happily married for many years to Gene Wilder until she tragically died from cancer. I had to add the lyrics to her song,m since they are so beautiful as well. And of course, I went to youtube to hear the song immediately.
Honey (Touch Me With My Clothes On) lyrics by Gilda Radner
Honey, touch me
With your clothes on.
Sweetie, Baby,
Longer than you do.
Honey, kiss me,
With your mouth closed,
Just like you love me,
And I love you.
Now whatever happened,
To Johnny Mathis?
Two moments when your lips
Met mine! (Ooo, Ooo, Ooo)
So in love were we two,
We didn’t know what to do,
And chances, (Chances)
Were awfully good that
Love would be so fine.
And whatever happened,
To slow, slow dancin,
And imaginin’, how heaven
Could be? (Ooo, Ooo, Ooo)
Fallin in love,
Was wonderful, wonderful,
And lovin, (lovin)
Baby, was a dream fantasy.Honey, touch me,
With my clothes on,
Sweetie, Baby,
Longer than you do,
Honey, Kiss me,
With your mouth closed,
Just like you love me
and I love you.
Seemed so sad, (Seemed so sad)
Hurt so bad, (Hurt so bad)
Don’t be cruel.
I’m a fool. (Such a fool)
Only you,
Mr. Blue…
Can’t you see? (Cant you see?)
Must I be? (Must I be?)
Baby, Baby…(Baby….)
(Musical Interlude)
(Ah, ah, la, la, ooh)
Now whatever happened
to Johnny Mathis?
Gee, wasn’t his Vibrato great? (Really Great)
So much love have we two,
With so little left to do,
Too much,
Too little,
Too late. (Touch me)
Too much,
Too little, (With my clothes on)
Too late. (Kiss me)
Too much,
Too little, (With your mouth closed)
Too late.
(Honey, touch me)
Touch me with my clothes on…
(Ooooo)
