Gigi wrote a ton of poetry when she went camping with her sons… something about nature and starlight and romantic sand dunes. now that she has found the inner poet in her, and since she is getting good feedback from other poets, she wants to share them with you.
Wish upon a star
Who hears you
When you wish upon a star?Is it the stars themselves?
And what do they do with
All those hopeful wishes
Tossed up in the air?
Do they gather them in bunches
And send the worthy ones
To a higher power?Who hears you
When you wish upon a star?Is it the planets up on high?
And how do they react to
These desperate wishes
Floating up and away?
Do they wrap them up with a bow
And send them on their way
To the wish fulfiller?Who hears you
When you wish upon a star?
Is it the angels in the sky?
And what do they think about
All those deep felt wishes
Thrown up high?
Do they tie them in a knot
And send the unselfish wishes
To a stronger power?Who hears you
When you wish upon a star?Is it God in heaven?
And how does God feel about
All these things humans ask
And want so fervently?
Does he choose which ones
To grant and which to ignore
Or does he do nothing at all?Who hears you
When you wish upon a star?Star light star bright
First star I see tonight
I wish I may I wish I might…
Y’all know what Gigi wants.
May that wish fulfiller
Find her one.
