Helen and Gigi are out in Grand Rapids this weekend and having a great time. Last night was a rip-roaring time…which was so much fun and crazy all at the same time, that we will soon be presenting this night with three different perspectives…Helen’s, Gigi’s and Heidi’s. It was a night in which I was very happy to be with friends and family. I will keep it at that for now.
Other than that, Helen once again has another chapter to write for the book. I have had an interesting and very different life experience with a man who has shown me how easy it is complicate a simple life. Sometimes, people can just be so disappointing…and sometimes we can disappoint ourselves, as well. It is a pity when they both happen concurrently, just as it did in this instance. Overall, I am chalking it all up as another chance to gain insight and empathy with people…and with myself.
I am giving myself a day to take it all in, shake it off and say goodbye. Martina McBride says it best in her new song, Wrong Baby Wrong….”Cry if you want to…that’s what we all do…but if you think you’ll never move on….that’s where you’re wrong. You’re wrong baby, wrong….” I realize this is a very vague post, but the upcoming chapter will be a good one.
If you have ever seen the movie, “He’s Just Not That Into You” just think back to the part where Drew Barrymore is at work and has a bunch of her friends sitting around her desk listening to a voicemail. In the movie, she had been online dating and felt as if she had finally met a nice guy. As all of the characters are waiting on bated breath to hear the voicemail the “nice guy” left…they give a collective sigh as a personalized song rings through the air. As you are watching the movie, you think, “How sweet! This man called her to sing to her!” Then, after the man hangs up from singing, he comes on again, singing the same song with another girls name in it. Pretty much, this is what happened to Helen…and Heidi…and Lauren. He just never thought we would all talk about it. As I always say, never, ever underestimate a woman….or a group of women whom you are trying to charm. Egads. It should be a funny one to read.
