Example of a bad email from match….

  • April 12, 2010 at 10:32 pm

Okay, I know that I said I would be more likely to respond to a man if they wrote me an email. However, this guy is an example of one that I would run from…and shall remain anonymous because I almost feel sorry for him… Continue reading ‘Example of a bad email from match….’

Match.com… to wink or not to wink… that is the question….

  • April 12, 2010 at 10:18 pm

Alright, for any of you who have ever gone through the whole dating website experience, raise your hand if you think it is all ridiculous. You? Oh… and you sir? Yes… me, too. I honestly think that I have several strikes against me. First of all, I think that people are actually going to look like the pictures they display on their profiles. (Please read Adventures in Dating: Helen’s Stories (Look under the Our Stories tab). I am not pointing out a specific chapter because 90% of the time, I have experienced meeting men who look nothing like their picture. Okay, perhaps if you squint your eyes, tilt your head and knock a few tequila shots back, it looks like them. However, most look as though they have taken their old yearbook photos and photo shopped them into their profiles. Continue reading ‘Match.com… to wink or not to wink… that is the question….’

Drinks or dinner = Sex… I think NOT!!

  • April 12, 2010 at 9:49 pm

Men, here’s a blog just for those of you who think that a woman owes you something other than conversation if you buy her drinks or dinner. Thankfully most of the men Gigi knows and asked about this were thoroughly horrified at the thought that a woman has to have sex with a man for the above reasons!! Poem #1: Facebook by Sean Galvin

  • April 12, 2010 at 8:56 pm

Helen and Gigi went to a writer’s workshop last weekend, and met a lot of interesting contacts. They also heard some great poetry, which made them think of starting a section here for poems. About life and love of course. Their favorite poems heard that day were the very well-written and amusingly tongue-in-cheek poems written by Sean Galvin. Gigi and Helen feel that they write that way too, Continue reading ‘Poem #1: Facebook by Sean Galvin’

Adventures in Dating: Helen – Part XII

The Kleenex Box and all that should never be re-visited again

The man that I speak of in this chapter makes me think of my favorite food, refried beans. They give me terrible acid reflux, but the more I think about them, the more I want them, despite my inability to digestively handle eating them. For this reason, I want refried beans all of the time and could eat them for every meal. I think of how many dishes I could put them with and how wonderful they taste when they are sitting in my palate. Of course, I never remember the acid part until after I have eaten a great, big bowl of them. After eating them, much like what happened in this chapter; calling upon an ex to fill a particular void -immediate remorse sets in. Continue reading ‘Adventures in Dating: Helen – Part XII’

When Gigi gave up dating, or turned to just plain booty calls and amazing sex

Gigi’s father had always said that Gigi spoke six languages and didn’t know how to say no in any of them. And he said this before she ever became a woman!! But it was sadly true. Gigi had zilch in the will power department. She couldn’t say no to chocolate, to clothes and shoes, or to men. What can I say. She just loved sex. She loved everything about it, the kisses and caresses leading up to it, the touching, all the positions (and I mean all of them). Oh oh TMI? Sorry, but this is the booty call chapter, which means it doesn’t involve dinner, but skips straight to dessert. So either skip the chapter, or bravely read on. It won’t get too graphic I promise, and you will have to use your imagination, because no photos or videos will be shared, and not too many details either. Those were only exchanged with her BFF’s. Ann Arbor through Gigi’s eyes!!

  • April 12, 2010 at 8:38 pm

Helen is right… Ann Arbor was a blast, and we all saw it through our own rose-colored lenses!! I think my favorite part was also leaving Ann Arbor, and my being totally unable to find the right highway to go home. By the time we got off the darned highway for the third time, I was in tears of laughter. So much so that I was crying and couldn’t see where I was driving. thankfully Sophia, who was NOT amused, took over the driving and soon had us going in the right direction!! Gigi: Week of April 12th

  • April 12, 2010 at 8:29 pm

It is now April showers bringing May flowers, with enough sun peeking through to give Gigi a good tan. She prefers to date when she is tan and not pale wintery white! She is still refraining from dating… new guys that is. She is still hearing from Darrell, Eric, and John… all of whom have had one to two dates. So she feels like she has someone to talk to, keeps her toys for company at night, and for now life is ok.
