Favorite Romantic Books #9: Joanna’s choice

  • March 22, 2010 at 11:19 pm

Gigi once told her poet and writer friend Oscar (whom she dated very briefly), that his writing reminded her of that of Nicholas Sparks. I think he was offended, whereas she meant it as a total compliment. Continue reading ‘Favorite Romantic Books #9: Joanna’s choice’

Favorite Romantic Songs #9: Joanna’s choice

  • March 22, 2010 at 11:06 pm

Joanna’s favorites continue with her favorite songs. Now in this category, she didn’t give me exact names, but I’ll still list her choices. If I have time, I’ll research for the titles. Continue reading ‘Favorite Romantic Songs #9: Joanna’s choice’

Favorite Romantic Movies #9: Joanna’s choice

  • March 22, 2010 at 10:53 pm

Women tend to love romantic movies more than men do, and Joanna loves the chick flicks as much as Gigi and Helen do. I am keeping track of the movies listed in these blogs. Every now and then, I see a suggestion of a movie that I’ve never seen, and I put it on my to-watch list. Continue reading ‘Favorite Romantic Movies #9: Joanna’s choice’

Favorite Romantic Meals #9: From Joanna’s kitchen

  • March 22, 2010 at 9:03 pm

Like so many of the people sending in comments and answers on blogs, and sharing their stories and recipes, they are people from Gigi’s past, when she lived in Mallorca, Spain. Gigi and Joanna went to high school there together, and refound each other… on face book, of course. Gigi loves face book, and how it has reconnected her with so many people. The whole idea of the dating scene and all of the horror stories you hear now in our society is enough to make any woman run to a convent and beg them to take her in. I was pretty much to that point, but knew deep down, I would either end up breaking my vows after meeting some great parishoner or falling in love with a priest. When Gigi met David

And now for the long awaited chapter on David. This chapter is about love at first sight. It is not one of Gigi’s funny chapters about dating mishaps. So all you cynical people might want to skip to the next chapter. You will probably like that one better. It shows where everything went wrong and then you can say a cynical “I told you so.” However, if you are an incurable romantic, grab a hankie and read on. And don’t you dare feel sorry for Gigi… this one perfect week is what keeps her going in the online dating world, and why she won’t give up. Continue reading ‘Adventures in Dating: Gigi – Part IX’

When Helen remembered to be strong..

  • March 22, 2010 at 8:22 am

While Gigi was deciding to “clean house”, I also realized that I needed to do something. I needed to stand up for myself once again to my ex-husband. Too often, do I let him pull in the reins and have control over where and when his visits get to happen. I feel that I am doing this all for my child, trying not to make any waves and working with my ex for Gideon’s sake. Continue reading ‘When Helen remembered to be strong..’
