Helen and I are so excited about our new blog site. We’d like to thank Carlton Smith, executive editor of Troubadour 21 (and an amazing writer and poet) for creating this blog, after giving our Gigi and Helen dating stories a first home on his literary website, troubadour21.com (affectionately known as T21).
Gigi and Helen’s Blog Staff members
Our Gigi and Helen blogsite staff is mainly comprised of myself, Gigi and Helen. For those of you who do not know us, Gigi and Helen are our aliases. Otherwise men might not want to date us, if they know they could end up on this blog. However, Helen and I are scrupulously honest, and we end up telling men we meet that we are writing a book on dating… and then they actually WANT to be in a chapter!!
Gigi is my alias. It was given to me a while back by Walt, a man I dated on and off for almost a year. Helen is one of my best friends, co-worker, and my main partner in crime in this crazy dating world. Together we are putting our dating stories into a book, “Love Stinks!” that we will try and get published this year. Buy a Gigi and Helen t-shirt with our logo on it, and help T21 make some money for its upkeep and future plans. T-shirts can be bought on T21 at the cafepress.com ad at the top right corner.
For now you can read all of our chapters at Troubadour 21. Our introduction and first chapter are also here in the Gigi and Helen tabs. I have 30 chapters on Troubadour 21, and Helen has posted 17. All of my future chapters (from Chapters 31-Chapter “I found a man who stayed” -hopefully not too many chapters away!!) will be posted here. Helen’s chapters will join us soon.
We have extended the offer of creative director to Brie Dumas, who would be Gigi’s partner in serious crime if she lived in Michigan. Unfortunately she lives too far away. Gigi and Brie both went to school in Mallorca, Spain, although they didn’t know each other back then. Funnily enough Gigi and Brie’s brother had crushes on each other in high school. Not only that, but Gigi and Brie liked some of the same boys, and even kissed some of the same ones. Hopefully not during the same period of time.
Gigi and Brie found each other on face book, and still haven’t met in person, though they plan on one day going to Vegas, and having fun, flirting, drinking, and quite possibly getting arrested together. They have become each other’s lifesaver by text, since they both have the exact same tendency to forgive their men way too much. They know that they can turn to each other with their woes, and not get an “I told you so” or any negative remarks. They do try to stop each other from repeating their mistakes, with little success so far.
Brie has been helping Gigi with chapter ideas for many months now, by text and on facebook. She will be doing research on articles, dating quizzes, and will think up fun and exciting categories for me to write about. And since dating totally sucks so far, I will have LOTS of time to write, and I still have LOTS of past experiences to share. I may have written 30 chapters already, but I still have many more to extend on, or to begin writing about.

We want this blog to be fun and exciting and to have our readers interact with us, by not just writing comments, but also by sending us their stories about dating, nightmares or success stories. Especially success stories to give us hope that one day we’ll find THE ONE.
We have so many ideas for our blog, and would like to help you learn through our mistakes, by giving tips on dating and suggesting what to avoid doing, and maybe even how to know if he is THE ONE or is just another jerk…

Here you will find articles giving you tips on dating. Now keep in mind that these will be coming mainly from Gigi and Helen. They consider themselves experts in dating. They will get ideas, suggestions, and advice from their friends, some married, some single, and none of us claim to be infallible.
Top “Ten”
This Section will have articles on top “ten” things. There will be lots more than “ten” which is why it is in quotation marks. Some will be serious comments, and some funny ones. Take all with a big grain of salt and a good sense of humor.
Success Stories
We all need some hope if we are out there dating, so Gigi and Helen will find you success stories by hook or by crook, by talking to their married friends, or people they know in successful relationships. We will tell you about their first dates, how it got serious, how they proposed or were proposed to, and how they keep their relationship going successfully.
Nightmare Dates
Here we will post stories sent in by readers or given by friends on those nightmare dates that were hilarious or, at times, downright scary. Gigi and Helen have lots of their own if they can’t find any from people out there.
Relationship and Dating Advice
Here Gigi and Helen will try and find advice on how to make your relationship or dating work better. Again please keep in mind that we are both single, divorced women. However, we hope that we have learned from our mistakes, and we will get as much reader input as possible.
Favorite Movies, Books, Songs, Meals, and Vacation Spots
We will tell you our favorite movies, books and songs, and share them with you. We’ll give you ideas on what to cook for that special person in your life, and share recipes. We will suggest places to go on vacation together.
Dating Activities
We’ll give you suggestions on things to do on dates, places to go to, movies to see at the theater. How to have fun on a budget, or if there is no expense to be spared. Vacations to go on and countries to visit.

Don’t have time to read our chapters? You will be able to see at a glance here how our love lives are going: good, bad, or nonexistent.
Our Stories
Under this tab you will be able to read the past stories of Gigi’s and Helen’s love life either past or present. They still have many unwritten chapters about past men in their lives. At this rate Gigi and Helen will have enough material for three books on dating. That should make us marketable to publishers, right?

Online Dating Sites
The Online Dating Sites section lists some of the available online dating websites (with many comments from Gigi on them. I can’t be sued for honest opinions, can I?) and we will add to these as we find more, hear about them from readers, or try them out ourselves (purely for research’s sake, of course). If you know any online dating sites, please send us a link, and tell us how it works, and if you’ve used it successfully or unsuccessfully.

Love Quizzes
There is a section on those fun quizzes women like so much, with links that take you straight there. I will try and post new ones each week.
Love Horoscopes
There is a section on horoscopes, and the one posted will email you free horoscopes every day. Gigi will add articles on which Zodiac signs work best together.
Singles Websites
Here we will post websites for single people. Most if these will probably be local ones (The Detroit Metro area).
Toy Websites
Look here for websites on where to buy your toys to keep you going when alone. Sassy will be doing Toy reviews too.
We Need Your Help!!
We need your help!! Please send us your nightmare dates and your success stories. If you met on an online dating site, send us your story and give us hope!!
Male readers, please send us your stories too, because I know it’s not just men who mess up relationships!! So come on and give us the male persepective on dating, and tell us what you do wrong, and what women do wrong.

UPDATE: April 15th
We started our blog three months ago… Wow, time has flown by, and writing for our blog is such a blast!! We have added many categories, some were our ideas, and some were suggested by friends and readers.
We now have weekly blogs on:

We have guest writers sending us articles, and fellow bloggers adding our blog to theirs… We are slowly gaining readers, and loving every minute of it. The only way this would be more fun would be if we got paid for it!!
