I used to love face book for talking with people, but let me say that skype is so much better!!! You can see the people that you are talking to, which in a long distance relationship like mine, makes it so much easier.
Gigi has also used it to talk to her mother in Spain, which she loved, especially when she was able to talk to her grnadsons (Gigi’s mom that is, not Gigi… she is NOT yet a grandmother, and hopefully that ti a long ways away still!!)
Gigi and Jean-Claude go on skype every few days… he is borrowing his room mates’ laptop (whose girl friend is also very far away, so he is kind enough to give them so skype time). But by next week, Jean-Claude will have his own, and they will be celebrating their one month anniversary together (well, technically apart lol) on skype… wonder how romantic and special that will be!!
For now, Gigi is just happy that someone invented skype, that you can use to tal to family, friends, and loved ones FOR FREE!!! NO need to pay a phone bill or internet fee… amazing!! and Thank you skype!!
Today’s dating activity comes to us from Brie, who really must be Gigi’s sista from anotha motha!! In fact, sometimes Gigi wonders if her daddy knew Brie’s mommy!! They are so alike it is hilariously funny at times, and sometimes downright spooky, considering they have not yet met in person, but have become very good friends on face book. They have many friends in common from their childhood growing up in Mallorca, and Brie’s brother Sam used to have a crush on Gigi (and likewise, she had one on him) when they were teenagers. Brie has the honorary title of creative director for our blog since she comes up with many of the questions that Gigi posts on face book each week. Wow… Gigi and Jean-Claude were talking on skype tonight… and realized that it has been over a month since they began to flirt together on face book, and almost a month since things began to get serious between them. Ok, it was Gigi who did the realizing, but it was Jean-Claude who said they needed to celebrate it with champagne on skype!! How romantic is that? Jean-Claude is quite the kidder (which Gigi simply loves… he can make her laugh from thousands of miles away, and likewise, she can make him laugh). He asked Gigi who should buy the champagne, but Gigi laughingly told him that since she couldn’t quite pass him the bottle, they would each have to buy one. The Second Half of Christmas
As Gigi’s twelve days of Christmas drew to a close, she couldn’t help wondering what lay ahead for her. It had been quite a year, 2009, not as heart breaking as 2008 had been, with the unforgettable David, but still filled with ever so much disappointment in the male department. As she kept notes on everything that happened each day, Gigi realized just how much fun writing a blog website would be, just like the one in the recent and true movie “Julie/Julia” in which the main character writes something every day about her cooking experiences. Gigi could do that. She could write about her feelings on dating or lack there of. Gigi never lacked for words. At times she might not feel like writing, but she never lacked for words!!
